Welcome to Ohana – Supporting Families with Children Who Have Special Educational Needs or a Disability.
Based in Ripon, Ohana is a dedicated charity committed to uplifting families of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive support to parents, caregivers, and families as they navigate the unique challenges and joys of raising children with SEND.

At Ohana, we offer a variety of services tailored to meet the unique needs of every family we serve. Here’s how we can help:
Play Club
Our Play Club meets every Saturday from 10am to 12pm, providing a fun and inclusive space for children aged 0–10 to play, explore, and make new friends. Meanwhile, parents and carers can connect with others who understand their journey and share similar experiences.
Teen Club –
Teen Club is a welcoming and inclusive space designed for neurodiverse teenagers aged 11–17 (secondary school age). We meet every Saturday morning from 10:00am to 12:00pm at The Bungalow, Outwood Academy Primary Greystones for a fun, relaxed, and social experience.
Support Groups and Peer Networks
Join our support groups to find a safe, understanding environment where families raising children with SEND can share experiences, celebrate milestones, and navigate challenges together. We also have an active Facebook group, perfect for connecting with other parents, sharing advice, and asking questions, whenever you need support, our community is here for you.
Community Events
We host regular inclusive events that encourage social interaction, learning, and fun. These gatherings help children and families build lasting friendships and create special memories together.

You don’t need a diagnosis or a professional referral to access our services, everyone is welcome. While we’re happy to collaborate with other agencies, our focus is on supporting families in the way that works best for them.
As parents ourselves, we understand that every family’s journey is unique. That’s why we provide a welcoming, inclusive space where children can enjoy activities and have fun, while parents can relax and connect with others in a supportive environment.
