New website launched!
Ohana was set up in 2015 as a parent initiated group offering support and friendship to all families coping with the challenge that can be involved in raising a child with special educational needs or a disability. After gaining charitable status in 2015, many parents/carers of children with additional needs worked together to bring about positive change to the community in and around Ripon through organising activities, support networks and events to help these families.
We are at a very exciting point in Ohana’s future. After receiving funding from the National Lottery, we are looking to relaunch and develop what we offer to these families. Our outlook is that we want these families to feel stronger and more optimistic about life and we hope the services that we offer will help them to realise that life may be different but still enjoyable when you can share the load.
